INTERNATIONAL ESG INITIATIVES, CERTIFICATIONS AND RECOGNITIONS
We have significantly expanded our participation in international ESG initiatives, recognitions, and certifications. Canadian Solar joined United Nations Global Compact (UNGC) in June 2023, making commitment to the Ten Principles of the UNGC on human rights, labor, environment, and anti-corruption. We also submitted a commitment letter to the SBTi (Science Based Targets initiative) in July 2023, indicating our intention to set the near-term and net-zero science-based climate targets. In addition, we completed the CDP Climate Change 2023 Questionnaire in July 2023, addressing our engagement on environmental issues.
Canadian Solar has expanded the universe of our ISO certifications. Our operations are certified under ISO9001 quality management system, ISO14001 environmental management system, ISO45001 occupational health and safety system and ISO50001 energy management system, demonstrating our commitment to maintain a high standard of product quality, environmental protection, energy conservation, and operational safety.
Canadian Solar has earned recognition by external ESG rating agencies. We received a Prime ESG rating from Institutional Shareholder Services (ISS) in early 2023, placing us among the top 5 percentile of the nearly 100 global companies rated in the same industry. We also received an Excellent ESG rating from Achilles, a reputable UK agency evaluating environmental, social and governance factors across supply chains.
