2024 SUSTAINABILITY REPORT As a global leading renewable energy company, Canadian Solar aims to power the world with solar energy and to create a cleaner Earth for future generations. R&D

R&D has played a very critical role in driving reductions in resource usage across manufacturing, transportation, and utilization of our module products, thereby lowering the environmental impact of solar power projects using Canadian Solar’s modules. To achieve this, we have developed and deployed inhouse testing standards that are two to three times more rigorous than those prescribed by the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC), which serves as the benchmark for the solar industry. For example, our N-type bifacial modules demonstrated less than 1% power degradation after undergoing a damp heat test lasting 2,000 hours, well below the 5% threshold required by the IEC for a 1,000-hour test. Therefore, given our products’ reliability, our regular N-type modules come with a 30-year power warranty and low power degradation.
