Solarpark Fuquay Farm, USA

Canadian Solar Invests and Collaborates with Strata Solar – to deliver a suite of utility-scale solar power projects located in North Carolina, USA.

These projects, developed jointly, will total approximately 85 MW divided amongst 15 unique solar power installations. The first of the 15 unique projects is a 6.4 MW DC installation on Fuquay Farm located in Middle Creek, Willow Springs in Wake County, NC. Fuquay Farm creates enough renewable energy to power 750 homes and offsets 8.8 million pounds of CO2 emission per year.

The portfolio of 15 solar power plant projects mainly consist of 6.0 MW utility scale solar energy farms, but also include a 1.0 MW rooftop solar system and 3.0 MW farm. The energy produced by the portfolio is equivalent to removing approximately 17,067 passenger cars from the road.

Fuquay is a beautiful site, gorgeous rolling terrain with forest, swamps, grassland and several lakes and ponds within sight of the farm. Rolling terrain on these types of sites always demand design changes. Fuquay and Strata Solar redesigned some of the overhead line work because of various clearances to ground.

Canadian Solar is a leading solar project company with hundreds of megawatts of PV capacity deployed and years of experience in commercial and utility scale turn-key PV power projects. The U.S based project development team has secured over 255 MW solar projects in its portfolio.
