Motorsport Facility Sets the Pace with 500 kW PV Installation.
The Motorsport Arena, the most northern race track in Germany, now produces green electricity using a photovoltaic system from Canadian Solar.. The installation has an output of 500 kW and covers a large part of the annual electricity consumption of the circuit. Besides reducing costs, it also helps the track improve its environmental profile in an industry that is sometimes seen as less than eco-friendly.
The rooftop installation comprises 2,000 PV modules from Canadian Solar and is situated on the main building of the Motorsport Arena, which consists of 29 boxes on the ground floor, an administration block and 19 VIP lounges on the 1st floor. Overall, the PV plant covers an area of about 3,000 square meters.
