Martins Creek Elementary School Installs one of the Largest PV Arrays in North Carolina - Utilizing Canadian Solar Modules to Generate Green Power and Educational Opportunities.
Martins Creek Elementary/Middle School and ESA Renewables partnered to create a 999 kW solar array that generates clean, renewable energy for the community. In addition, the school will use the impressive solar array’s monitoring system to teach children how solar works and raise their awareness of energy conservation. The PV system reduces carbon emissions equivalent to the amount that 4,681 trees would sequester per year.
ESA Renewables, one of the East Coast’s leading solar project developers, financed the PV project which also qualified for support via North Carolina’s tax credit and the Tennessee Valley Authority’s Generation Partners Pilot Program. A turnkey provider for commercial solar projects, ESA Renewables worked with the school and government agencies to construct an array of 4,382 Canadian Solar CS6P polycrystalline modules, which are known for their top PTC efficiency ratings. The solar project also brought new jobs with it, helping to support local economic growth.
