Position Summary:

Manage customer relationships and develop business opportunities in a multi-state territory. Drive Canadian Solar to a market share leader in the respective region.

 
Sales region includes: FL, GA, SC, AL, MS, LA, AR, TN.

 

 

Primary Responsibilities:

·         Contact and meet existing prospects and clients and build a close, binding relationship to understand their needs and to ensure company is positioned correctly to meet those needs

·         Generate, identify and contact leads through different sources and trade publications

·         Develop an account penetration strategy to grow the territory

·         Achieve targets for volume and gross margin as well as targets for territory management

·         Manage the entire sales cycle of our PV products and manage the integration of our products into utility and commercial scale by understanding the technical and financial project needs and offering project specific support packages outside the product

·         Frequently establish and communicate sales forecast, sales opportunities and prospect review

·         Collect and share competitive information as well as market and territory data from the field to assist in marketing strategies as well as to define sales and business development activities

·         Participate in trade shows and conferences to represent the company, to entertain clients and prospects and to close new sales opportunities

·         Ability and willingness to travel approximately 50% depending on schedule and customer requirements

 

Required Qualifications

·         Must have at least 8+ years of B2B selling experience, including 3+ years in the photovoltaic industry 

·         Engineering background / technical sales preferred

·         Ability to quickly learn detailed information about solar energy and solar industry

·         Demonstrated ability to find and signup new prospects

·         Experience with value selling and designing an account penetration strategy/plan

·         Ability to find the decision maker in a complex deal

·         Strong presentation and communication, written, and verbal skills

·         Excellent interpersonal relations and demonstrated ability to work with others effectively

·         Participate in regular review meetings and trainings

·         Reliable transportation necessary – business travel expenses are reimbursed

·       High proficiency of MS Office applications and Sales Force.com

·       Bachelors or Associate degree in management, administration, engineering, supply chain or related field is preferred

·       Self-motivated and able to work independently and proactively without supervision

·       Great work ethic, can-do personality, competitive and driven

·       Flexible schedule will be required

·         Ability to travel 50%+

·         Bi-lingual is a plus with spanish as the second language.

·         Must reside in the region, Florida preferred.

Accountabilities:

·         Meet the needs of the residential, commercial and small utility scale PV market

·         Established “product bankability” to support commercial clients with project financing and lender acceptance

·         Ability to sell the full suite of components needed for a PV system (racking, inverter, BOS components).

·         Local US presence with multiple warehouses, tech support staff

·         Ability to meet sales price requirements and to outperform competitors

·         Meet target and supply needs as well as being technology agnostic (means manufacturing different PV technologies and offering broad variety of PV products)

·         Highly motivated and will support sales and fulfill customer requirements and needs

This position will be integral to the success of the Canadian Solar Legal Department and will be a vital resource, not only to the in-house lawyers, but to the business teams. This is a global role, with opportunity to be involved in international projects.

Responsibilities:

The successful applicant will be responsible for the following initiatives:

  • Supporting Canada/LATAM legal team
  • Establishing and tracking corporate entities
  • Liaise with and assist in-house legal teams globally
  • Complying with filing requirements
  • Establishing and tracking contract procedures
  • Organizing, tracking and filing completed contracts
  • Complete formations, amalgamations, reorganizations and winding up of corporations and partnerships in various global jurisdictions
  • Assist in implementing policies and carrying out procedures relating to compliance matters, such as ABC, privacy, CASL, and others
  • Liaise with business teams and external counsel globally
  • Assist in the hiring of external counsel
  • Use strong organizational skills to maintain contract management order, including follow-up on contractual requirements and regulatory filings
  • Provide project management oversight for various projects for the Legal Department
  • Prioritize and prepare agendas, meeting minutes, notes, templates, spreadsheets
  • Work with limited supervision but closely with team members and business teams

Qualifications and Experience:

 

  • 7 to 10 years of experience as a Paralegal or Law Clerk
  • Strong knowledge of corporate legal matters
  • Appropriate professional designation
  • Supportive of co-workers and teammates, principally concerned about group success
  • College or university education preferred
  • Knows how to work within a diverse team and when bring other team members to the table to complete a project
  • Knowledge of and experience with corporate law and commercial agreements
  • Formation, amalgamation, reorganization and winding up of corporations and partnerships,
  • Strong familiarity with and understanding of commercial contracts, with a view to understanding them, identifying language issues, and tracking their implementation
  • Excellent business and legal communication skills, both written and verbal, are a must
  • Detail-oriented, flexible and creative
  • Willing to go “into the unknown”, learn new tasks and take on new challenges
  • Strong interpersonal skills, work well within a high pressure, dynamic, deadline oriented and team focused environment
  • Experience with compliance matters an asset

Responsibilities

 

The successful candidate’s responsibilities will include:

      Initiate, generate and maintain technical documents related to the projects of power systems  including drawings, specifications and project proposals

      Perform power system studies in steady state such as short-circuit, load flow, protection coordination and arc flash studies

      Analyze system transient stability and reliability for power systems

      Design the microgrid relay/ protection system and coordinate for different configurations

      Setup power system test procedures and write reports

      Work with control/communication engineer to setup/design SCADA system

      Ensure that all business activities are performed with the highest ethical standards

      Adhere to all health and safety rules and procedures

      Complete all other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications and Experience

 

·           An Engineering’s  Degree on Electrical/Electric Power Systems

·           Minimum 5 years’ relevant work experience on power system

·           Must have knowledge of and proficiency in the use of power system simulation and optimal design software such as PSCAD or PowerFactory and HOMER

·           PC Proficiency in AutoCAD for power system drawing

·           Knowledge in renewable energy system, energy storage, islanded grid and diesel gensets is preferable

·           P.Eng qualification is preferable
