As a member of the Projects and Finance Team, the Finance and Business Development Analyst is responsible for assisting and administrating all aspects related to finance, project finance, insurance, legal, business development, asset management, mergers & acquisitions, and End Buyer pricing/modelling/selection. The Finance and Business Development Analyst must perform a range of related duties as needed to support the finance department.

Responsibilities:

 

  • Perform asset management duties for projects located in Ontario including reporting, budget tracking, loan administration and compliance and project oversight
  • Assist with managing global letter of credits including completing applications, review drafts, tracking and compliance
  • Assist in the preparation of bid support and responses to requests for proposal
  • Provide project development tracking including budgets, permits, cash flows, approvals
  • Assist with legal agreements, mergers and acquisitions, loan agreements, and new business analysis and buyer due diligence
  • Prepare/assist with presentations, proposals, (PowerPoint) and reports (Excel/Word) as required for senior management to present externally, to the investment committee and to headquarters as well as track compliance
  • Perform other duties includes various reporting, maintaining and filing documentation, data room management, payment approvals and contract approvals
  • Complete/Assist other duties and projects as assigned to help business operations, the finance team and business development team
  • Support ISO 9001 activities
  • Ensure that all business activities are performed with the highest ethical standards and in compliance with the Canadian Solar Solution Code of Business Conduct
  • Adhere to all health and safety rules and company policies
  • Complete other duties and projects as assigned

 

Qualifications and Experience:

 

  • 2+ years related experience
  • Degree or Diploma in business, accounting or finance related field
  • Experience in renewable energy
  • Demonstrated ability to perform related functions in adherence to regulations, laws, policies, and standards
  • Effective communication skills with individuals at all levels of the organization
  • Able to deal with people tactfully, confidentially, diplomatically, and professionally at all times
  • Strong tactical and analytical skills
  • Able to work efficiently as a part of a team as well as independently
  • Computer literacy, including effective working skills of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and e-mail required
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Attention to detail in all areas of work

Primary Responsibilities:

·         Contact and meet existing prospects and clients and build a close, binding relationship to understand their needs and to ensure company is positioned correctly to meet those needs

·         Generate, identify and contact leads through different sources and trade publications

·         Develop an account penetration strategy to grow the territory

·         Achieve targets for volume and gross margin as well as targets for territory management

·         Manage the entire sales cycle of our PV products and manage the integration of our products into utility and commercial scale by understanding the technical and financial project needs and offering project specific support packages outside the product

·         Frequently establish and communicate sales forecast, sales opportunities and prospect review

·         Collect and share competitive information as well as market and territory data from the field to assist in marketing strategies as well as to define sales and business development activities

·         Participate in trade shows and conferences to represent the company, to entertain clients and prospects and to close new sales opportunities

·         Ability and willingness to travel approximately 50% depending on schedule and customer requirements

 

Required Qualifications

·         Must have at least 8+ years of B2B selling experience, including 3+ years in the photovoltaic industry 

·         Engineering background / technical sales preferred

·         Ability to quickly learn detailed information about solar energy and solar industry

·         Demonstrated ability to find and signup new prospects

·         Experience with value selling and designing an account penetration strategy/plan

·         Ability to find the decision maker in a complex deal

·         Strong presentation and communication, written, and verbal skills

·         Excellent interpersonal relations and demonstrated ability to work with others effectively

·         Participate in regular review meetings and trainings

·         Reliable transportation necessary – business travel expenses are reimbursed

·       High proficiency of MS Office applications and Sales Force.com

·       Bachelors or Associate degree in management, administration, engineering, supply chain or related field is preferred

·       Self-motivated and able to work independently and proactively without supervision

·       Great work ethic, can-do personality, competitive and driven

·       Flexible schedule will be required

·         Bi-lingual is a plus with spanish as the second language.

Accountabilities:

·         Meet the needs of the residential, commercial and small utility scale PV market

·         Established “product bankability” to support commercial clients with project financing and lender acceptance

·         Ability to sell the full suite of components needed for a PV system (racking, inverter, BOS components).

·         Local US presence with multiple warehouses, tech support staff

·         Ability to meet sales price requirements and to outperform competitors

·         Meet target and supply needs as well as being technology agnostic (means manufacturing different PV technologies and offering broad variety of PV products)

·         Highly motivated and will support sales and fulfill customer requirements and needs

The Senior Tax Analyst, reporting directly to the Sr. Tax Manager, will be primarily responsible for US tax reporting, including US Federal, State, and local tax returns and tax accounting, including compliance, while directly supporting the activities for tax planning initiatives, transfer pricing, and other initiatives as required to directly support the business unit and department needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Preparing transaction tax (sales/use, business & occupation, gross receipts, and property tax) returns for monthly, quarterly, and annual filings;
  • Preparation and filing of federal, state, and local tax returns;
  •  Researching federal, state, and local tax issues as appropriate;
  • Interpreting and complying with state, local and international statutes, regulations, and legislation;
  • Providing guidance based on research of transaction tax laws and regulations;
  • Assisting with the reconciliation of transaction tax general ledger accounts;
  • Tax support for mergers, acquisitions, and dispositions;
  • Preparing for and assisting with tax audit, tax planning initiatives and transfer pricing;
  • Developing and implementing process improvements;
  • Other duties and responsibilities as needed for the business unit.

 Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required; CPA certification desirable;
  • Must have a minimum of 4+ years of tax experience with proven track record of accomplishments;
  • Big-Four experience and international tax exposure a plus;
  • Working knowledge of SAP or Hyperion to enable data extract and reconciliation;
  • Exposure to CorpTax or similar software desirable;
  • US GAAP knowledge and solid experience with tax provisions;
  • Bilingual in English & Mandarin preferred
  • Work will be performed in a standard office environment, in front of a computer monitor and will involve sitting, bending, standing, walking, typing, and reaching.

Canadian Solar (USA) Inc. is looking to hire an Senior Internal Auditor to join our growing team.  The Senior Internal Auditor will be responsible for auditing, conducting business process reviews, and supporting business initiatives across the organization.  The position will provide the successful candidate an ideal opportunity to contribute to the organization’s control environment and gain a broad perspective across the company through various assignments that can range from unique special projects to supporting audit engagements in a dynamic setting.  This position will be based in Walnut Creek, CA; however, will require the auditor to spend half of their time in our San Francisco office.


Responsibilities:

  • Participate in operational projects and SOX compliance efforts.
  • Conduct audit projects as assigned within time budget and deadlines. 
  • Participate in comprehensive planning and risk assessments relating to each assignment to ensure that the engagement identifies and responds to potential business or reporting risks.
  • Perform audit testwork and preparation of adequate and sufficient audit documentation in accordance with prescribed methodology.
  • Working with Audit Manager to tailor detailed risk-based audit programs.
  • Participate in the preparation of audit reports with clearly presented recommendations and agreed with responsible management.
  • Review and report on the status of action plans to implement internal control improvements derived from internal audit projects.
  • Two to three year commitment to Internal Audit, with opportunities to rotate to Finance or Operations

 

Skills required:

  • Knowledge of Internal auditing standards, guidelines & procedures, risk assessment and internal control frameworks (COSO).
  • Demonstrated time management skills to meet deadlines as well as flexibility to adapt to changing priorities.
  • Demonstrated ability to collect, analyze and interprets information from various sources, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
  • Familiarity with SOX 404 audit and methodology and documentation standards.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills including the ability to clearly present information to various audiences in both formal and informal settings.
  • Strong interpersonal skills – ability to work closely with people at all levels of the organization and facilitate the implementation of corrective action.
  • Strong customer focus with the ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with team members, internal and external stakeholders.
  • General understanding of IT concepts (ITGC, Application controls) is a valued advantage.
  • Other duties and responsibilities identified to directly support the Internal Audit division

 

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Professional Accounting / Auditing Designation (CPA or CIA)
  • 4-6 years of experience in internal audit, risk management and control frameworks preferably in Manufacturing / Engineering & Construction environment
  • MNC exposure / Big 4 experience is a plus
  • Proficiency in English and Mandarin or Japanese

Treasury Clerk is mainly responsible for daily treasury transactions, inter-company reconciliations, payroll and ad hoc reports.

Responsibilities:

The successful candidate’s responsibilities will include:

·         Handle daily bank payments.

·         Prepare weekly cash flow forecast and daily cash balance report.

·         Prepare monthly bank reconciliation for all of bank accounts.

·         Prepare Debit Note / Credit Note for inter-company’s transactions and prepare journal entries. Reconcile the balance with each inter-company at each month-end.

·         Prepare payroll journal entries and reconciliations.

·         Assist with annual budgeting.

·         Prepare ad hoc reports as required.

Qualifications and Experience:

·         Bachelor’s Degree or diploma in Accounting or Finance required.

·         CGA / CMA or in progress is preferred.

·         Minimum 2-3 years of experience in treasury and payroll.

·         Experience with financial reporting and analysis is preferred.
