Windsor Shopping Centre, Australia

Australian mall invests in 100 kW system.

The Windsor Riverview Shopping Centre, owned by Pirasta Pty Ltd., now enjoys the savings and environmental benefits of solar power, and is educating shoppers about them too.

The rooftop installation was developed by Canadian Solar Australia and constructed by Mark Group Australia using CS6P-P 250 W Canadian Solar PV modules. These will supply 140 MWh for the first year with guaranteed minimum power output of 80% over the next 25 years.

Their rooftop installation includes 20 PV panels (5 kW each), matched to 5 inverters (20kW each). And everyone benefits.  The shopping centre cuts costs with the power produced and meets their strategic goals of becoming more energy independent and environmentally sensitive. Shoppers, in their turn, can use the installation to learn about solar, because Canadian Solar and Pirasta are facilitating a solar energy education initiative associated with the project.

“On behalf of Pirasta, we would like to thank you for all your efforts and professionalism in bringing your solar power technology to full fruition at Windsor Riverview Shopping Centre,” said Kim Kilroy, Finance and Administration Manager.
