RASCAL SEED RESEARCH, SOUTH AFRICA
In Christiana, South Africa, Rascal Seed Research Laboratories are producing minitubers for the multiplication of early generation potato seed. For developing their activities, they switched to solar power.
The system is grid-tied and works in conjunction with the grid supply. The system was designed as an embedded generation and can be expanded once storage into battery technology reaches grid parity.
The 250 kW installation for the Rascal research center was supplied with Canadian Solar's polycrystalline panels and developed by RenEnergy Africa, a company offering full EPC service along with high-level consultancy in the energy industry.
