Sunnybrook Health Science, Canada

Canadian Solar Supplied 140 Solar Panels to Sunnybrook Heath Sciences.

In 2009, Sunnybrook Health Services installed more than 140 solar panels, spanning two stories of a parking garage, which are expected to generate nearly 27,000 kilowatt-hours of electricity annually. This is enough energy to power 150 medical ventilators. The panels are mounted vertically on the wall of the structure and located at the main entrance of the campus, so they serve as a visual reminder of the hospital's conservation efforts in producing clean, renewable energy. Additionally, a display near the parking garage educates visitors and staff on PV technology by providing real-time information on power generation and carbon emissions reduction. The solar system has been a great success in helping the hospital cut energy costs and reduce its environmental impact.
