Mahora Solarfarm I, Spain

Canadian Solar and Ra Solar Espana Complete one of the Largest Solar Plants in Spain - supplying enough energy for 1,900 families.

Mahora Solar Farm, in Albacete, is one of Spain’s largest solar projects. It generates over 2.8 megawatts and covers approximately 20 acres. Ra Solar Espana, one of the most reputable developers of large-scale solar farm projects in Spain, developed and managed the project. They chose Canadian Solar as their primary supplier for their consistently high quality products and the company’s strong reputation for fast delivery and reliable service for large utility-scale projects.

The solar farm consists of almost 18,000 Canadian Solar CS5A solar panels, mounted on a fixed structure and connected to 100 kW inverters. Every year this plant prevents the emission of 5,040 tons of CO2. That reduction matches the amount of carbon sequestered by 117,236 tree seedlings grown for 10 years.

“Canadian Solar has been a reliable partner, especially with regards to delivery times and after sales services, which are crucial elements in projects of this size. At the same time, we are very pleased with the high quality of Canadian Solar’s modules. We have already placed future orders,” said Linda Goossens, General Manager, Ra Solar Espana.
