Australian company installs 100 kW system to reduce environmental impact – and costs.

Mega Lifesciences (Australia) Pty Ltd, as part of its worldwide company commitment to the environment have installed a 100 kWp PV system at their new Australian manufacturing plant. Canadian Solar Australia developed the system which includes Canadian Solar’s 240 Wp poly panels and Fronius CL48 inverters. The PV panels were installed on the West-facing roof and mounted on aluminum rails parallel to the roof tilt.

Mega Lifesciences (Australia) Pty Ltd also benefits from this project in areas beyond reduced impact on the environment. For instance, the system generates 1801 Small-scale Technology Certificates (STC), which can be either surrendered to the Clearing House or sold in the open market. Moreover, when considering the electricity bill, up to 80% of the peak electricity demand can be off-set by the PV power system. In addition less cooling load is required in summer as the PV panels absorb and partly reflect the sunlight, hedging against further electricity bill increases.
