Canadian Solar modules achieve excellent performance in Australia desert field test, we are one of the top 3 energy yield companies in total 25 PV systems (among these, there are 10 polycrystalline silicon systems) according to Desert Knowledge Australia Solar Centre (DKASC).
DKASC is a demonstration facility in Alice Springs, Central Australia, tracking performances of solar power systems by different makers in the desert weather conditions. DKASC provides the industry with long term system level data.
According to the ongoing performance data at DKASC from Sep.1 2013 to Aug.31 2014, Canadian Solar’s 5.5 kW system, installed with 22 pieces of 250 W Canadian Solar modules (CS6P-250P), generated 168.0 kWh/kWp electricity per month on average.
Central Australia where DKASC locates is a continental desert environment and has an arid climate with hot summers and cool winters. During winter (May to September) the nights can quite cold (below freezing) and the days are crisp, cool and bright. In summer maximum daily temperatures can top over 40 degrees for a number of days.
